Names

In Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone Dumbledore tells Harry to always use the proper name for things. Why?

Ironically, the book doesn't even use the correct name...it's the "philosopher's" stone in the UK...

I think Dumbledore wants Harry to face things head on. Using the proper name is one way to show that he is not afraid and is not hiding from anything. It is a way to be brave.
