How the class is run

Wally Lamb, in an interview, discussed how the workshop is structured. He said the class is two hours and starts with a ten or fifteen minute lesson on some aspect of wirting such as point of view. Then there will be a ten or fifteen minute writing exercise. Then the class will discuss drafts in progress that the writers submitted to him the session before which he reads aloud or discussing writing that is new that day-a piece that the writer wants feedback on. So all of the pieces presented in Couldn't Keep it to Myself have been reviewed/critiqued by the other members of the workshop. Do you think the pieces appear to be well edited and written? Can you tell that a lot of time has been spent on them? Which ones do you think could have been edited more?
