The Big Read and the Fesitval of Words

The kickoff of the Big Read will take place this Saturday, March 31, at the Festival of Words. The event will take place at Norwalk Community College's East Campus beginning at 10 a.m. Charles Shields, the author of the only biography of Harper Lee (she wrote the Big Read book, To Kill a Mockingbird) will be speaking at 10 a.m. In addition to the many other authors, workshops, and other events at the (free) Festival, there will be a workshop titled Writes of Passage (drawn from the themes in To Kill a Mockingbird).
