KICKOFF!

The Big Read kickoff was at the Festival of Words on Saturday at Norwalk Community College. Charles Shields, author of Mockingbird, the biography of Harper Lee, spoke and signed copies of his book. I hope you were able to attend. If you are interested in reading Mockingbird, the Library does have a copy, although it is currently checked out. Harper Lee's life is very evident in To Kill a Mockingbird. She seems to have fashioned Scout in her image and her friend Dill, appears to be based on her childhood friend, Truman Capote. Knowing a bit more about the author of a book often enhances the reading experience.
