What do you think of when you think of Italy? Although the author thinks of it as a place where a beautiful language is spoken, as a place of pleasure, great food, she seems to focus on the people that she meets there and the adventures that she has-going to the football game, Thanksgiving dinner, Giovanni and Dario. Do you think the author's time in Italy was a uniquely Italian experience? Could she have had the same experiences in the United States?
